Krasser Kack, heute ist nicht nur unsere Lesung sondern auch Lance Mountain in der Stadt, nicht zu verwechseln mit Lance Armstrong, dessen drei Helfer gestern lebenslang gesperrt wurden.
Lance Mountain fährt Skateboard, müsste mittlerweile circa 89 Jahre alt sein, denn war schon damals ein Star, als ich noch geskatet bin und das ist 20 Jahre her. Mittlerweile fährt auch sein Sohn und nicht Fahrrad.
Tom Penny ist ebenfalls aus der Zeit, aber als 77er Generation nach Lance Mountain (64er) und neben Chad Muska das große Skatervorbild in den 90ern. Tom Penny hat im Gegensatz zu LM einen deutschsprachigen Wiki Eintrag, so als unnützes Wissen.
Beide sind heute im Rahmen der Flip-Tour, eine alteingesessene Brettmarke, für eine Demo an der Skateplaza am Prag-Friedhof, los geht´s um 16 Uhr. Eine Skate-Demo hat übrigens nix mit einer Demonstration in dem Sinn zu tun, dass man eine Straße blockiert, gerade Leser der Stuttgarter Zeitung verwechseln das schnell mal, sondern ist halt einfach ein Showcase der versammelten Fahrer eines Labels. Ich komm rüber und mach meine berühmte Nose-Wheelie-Demo.
Die Schräglage ist ab 19:30 Uhr geöffnet, da trifft sich das Flip-Team zur einer Mini-Ramp-Session direkt vor dem DJ-Pult. Denke mal, dass alle anderen Skater auch mitmachen dürfen, ist im Rahmen des 360° Mittwochs. Musik kommt von DJ BreeCube (Heavy Metal/Rock/Indie) und der Frauenschwarm und immerimmergeile DJ RL mit Rap.
Und noch was: In den Wagenhallen steigt ab heut die 72 Hour Urban Action. „We have a big hole“ und jede Menge internationale Künstler und Architekten versuchen dazu reparieren. Guckste Video und mehr Infos nach dem Jump.

In July 2012, 72 Hour Urban Action is coming to Stuttgart to work together with local cultural activists. The world’s 1st real-time architecture competition will be the kick-off of a series of major urban interventions. All around the site of the largest urban redevelopment in Europe – Stuttgart 21 – the center of a 30 year heated public debate.
The competition is defined by an extreme deadline, a tight budget and limited space and will challenge participants to rapidly leave a lasting impact on the city’s urban fabric. They will be battling the clock, the restrictive conditions and each other to envision and realize projects in response to the spatial and social challenges the sites and missions offer.
The international teams will include residents, architects, designers, artists, craftspeople, students and generally nice people. Teams will come to Stuttgart armed with a passion for action, and ready to give their time and expertise to help with community needs.
All participants will live together on site, in an old disused locomotive repair hangar converted into a sleep-work camp, thus enriching the neighborhood with a multi-cultural intense experience.
Participating teams will receive a budget for materials, a central prefabrication camp, a team of ‚Angels‘ (construction and safety engineers) and a truck (!).
The missions and sites will be assigned randomly on take off day. International panel of jury will include prominent leaders, architects and curators. The winning team will receive a prize of $ 4000.
The ?rst 72 Hour Urban Action competition took place in September 2010 as part of the Bat-Yam Biennale of Landscape Urbanism. The Bat-Yam Biennale is a unique civic action model that encourages bottom-up change in public space in collaboration with the local authorities.
