Wie gestern bekannt wurde ist bereits am Montag der große Soulsänger und Komponist Bill Withers im Alter von 81 Jahren an Herzkomplikationen gestorben.
Sein erster und bis heute vielleicht bekanntester Hit war „Ain’t No Sunshine“, tausendfach gecovert, viele Songs von ihm wurden für HipHop-Produktionen gesampelt, bekannt u.a. „Grandma’s Hands“ bei „No Diggity“ von Blackstreet oder „Who Is He“ bei „Phenomenon“ von LL Cool J.
